My Cancer Story
My Cancer Story: Series Montage
Raising awareness and supporting others to mark World Cancer Day on Saturday 4 February.
My Cancer Story was formed from the legacy our Community Heroes Awards and is being fronted by Amanda Jones and Nigel Lewis Baker MBE, two previous winners of the Outstanding Achievement Award.
Amanda has worked tirelessly for the charity Breast Cancer Now, following the untimely death of her daughter Becs from breast cancer at the age of 33.
Nigel has terminal prostate cancer but has been relentless in his efforts to raise awareness of the condition and supporting others living with cancer and their families.
My Cancer Story: Week in a glance
Monday morning’s Breakfast Show is looking at the incredible research work taking place right here in Sussex and Surrey.
Each morning we will also be looking at the impact that a cancer diagnosis can have on relationships, how to cope with financial hardship and dispelling some of the myths around cancer.
Throughout the week we’ll also be sharing how cancer has affected you and we’d love to hear your story.
You can get in touch with us by emailing mark.carter@bbc.co.uk with your story or share it via Facebook or Twitter, using #MyCancerStory.
